Body mounts
Have a 03 Ranger Edge and need to get the bolt out of the front body mount to install some nerf bars..Is there a special tool to remove the bottom plate? the existing bolt is not long enough and need to replace with a threaded bolt. Thanks

If you are talking about the bolt visible from a round hole in the top of the radiator support, the plate on the bottom is tack welded in. The bolt is removable from the top using a long extension down through the hole. Mounting anything between the body and the body puck or between the body puck and the frame will disturb your body alignment and sheet metal margins.

If you are talking about the body bolt inside the cab, same deal. The bottom is tack welded, but the bolt is removable from inside the cab under the carpet. Same thing applies to installing anything between the body, puck, and frame.

It's the one that is inside the cab..I can turn it (really hard to turn) but it does not loosen up.I would be installing a new longer bolt and nut then install the nerf bar to that..
