what seats are interchangable

My uncle asked me to come on here and ask about seats. He has a 99 SD CC dually 4wd. lariet package and the seats up front especially are shot. He is wondering what year range can he install seats from. My speculation is 99-03 but perhaps newer year models will also bolt in with only minor wiring changes perhaps but otherwise bolt in.

I appreciate your time.

Any seat will bolt in, but the plug may be different. I guess it really depends on if you get seats with heaters in them or not. If so, then you will definitely have to do a little wiring. I installed some 04 seats with heaters in my 01 and had to wire in the heaters and I changed to pigtail around. I would just check the plug of whatever seats you might find and see if it has 3 wires or more than 3. And check the plug on what you have as well so you will know if it will match up or not.

Speaking of seats, not to hijack the thread, I really like the fold down rear seats on the 6.0's. I wonder if you could upgrade to those in the 7.3

I will let you know, I have one sitting ready to go in the truck in a couple weeks. You just need a couple more holes drilled and it should be fine.

Don't the later rear fold down crew cab seat have eight mounting holes instead of four? I'd like the later seats because they have headrests.

I know the extended cab rear seats from the newer trucks did not fit in my 99.5 truck at all. They physically fit, but they fold down the opposite way, and there was nothing to mount the seatback to. I have them in there with just a couple bolts, and it seems fine for now- I never have anyone back there anyways.

The fronts from an 05 fit perfect, though. I love them.

To answer your questions, yes they do fit. The newer seat does have 8 mounting bolts, but I ran it with just 4 and it did fine. The places are there to drill the holes in the floor and then all you have to do is just get some seat mounting bolts from your dealer and they are self-tapping. So just drill the hole, install bolt and you are done. I ran it without the middle bolts installed though and it was fine. Did not affect the sturdiness of the seat or the fold out tray.

It's relatively easy to drill the holes for Ford's self tapping bolts, i just drilled up from under the cab, through the center of the captive nut ring. Then i cut the carpet out to fit the seat mounting foot, and ran in some self tapping seat bolts. Didn't take that long at all, and i never have to worry about it being unstable. And i love that King Ranch look... (sorry for the huge pics)

I did the seat swap. Swapped out my 2000 seats for 2003 KR seats. I have pics in my gallery. These were a direct swap, except the power had different connectors. I had a thread somewhere about it.

I know this is an old thread but I want to know what center jump seat will fit my 2002 Lariat? I currently have the center console that seats between my bucket seats and I want to remove that and add the center jump seat. I found a nice one out of a 2020 but not sure what years work and what years do not work. I just want it to bolt in, not worried about any wiring that might go with it like dc power points etc... Thanks for any help!

they all bolt in from 99-16. I had a 2010 center jump seat in my 2001. Sadly it didnt work for me ( reason listed below)

the issue is gonna be this
if you get the jump seat with the flip up back that has a head pad it will interfere with the floor shifter on a standard shift truck. If it’s a auto truck it won’t matte.
also the plastic beauty trim on the mounting legs will need to be trimmed slightly

Superduty seats?

Hi guys. New here! Back to the old question: "what seats interchange with the Superduty?"! Does anyone know if Expedtion or F150 seats bolt in/ fit? I have an 02 F350 CC dually and want to change the seats. I have quad leather power buckets with consoles and want to go with dual split benches, also leather/power. I found a sweet rear black bench out of a 13 Superduty and installed it (it was pretty simple). However, the fronts are more difficult to find a clean replacement for, especially that match!
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!
