Is it a do it yourself job to add the Strutmasters coil over shocks if you have the tools and some mechanical ability. I am waiting on an estimate and waiting to see what the extended warranty covers but I am also preparing for the worst that it might be cheaper just to eliminate the air suspension.

It's not a hard job but, the air suspension gives a better ride. I changed my Mark VIII to coils using OEM parts from a T-Bird SC and I had to remove the rear spring mounts from the body/frame of the donor and then weld them into my car. This was before changeover kits were available. The kits are a snap to install. If you make the change you should keep all the old parts in case you ever want to go back. Also, be sure to seal the air lines to keep them clean because if you never change it back the next owner might want to.
i agree, do not compleatly remove the system as it will kill resale, but the coil kits are very easy to change out, with minimum pains, and the conversion kits are relitivly cheap
