E40d gear select problems...
I recently acquired a 1995 f350 with the e40d. the previous owner said it wouldn't go into reverse. i got the truck picked up the rear and mess around with the sifter int he truck and spun the rear end. reverse cam back after fiddling. it worked for while then stopped after going tin to park the drive and back. it was acting like park, reverse, neutral were all park then it would drive forward in all gears but sluggish. now everything acts like park and the truck wont go into any gear. is there a selector switch that goes bad?

Check the fluid level along with the color and smell of the fluid. After that, if it was me, I would drop the pan and check that the filter has not fallen off and also check for metal particles or larger bits in the pan.
