Got some stuff done to the truck today. Thanks to all

Well this afternoon I decided to retorque my rockers and injectors, check the UVCH, 50 cent mod. Did the passengers side first. UVCH plug was loose, secured and installed quarter. All the injector hold down bolts we able to be torqued, rockers were good. Had a better look at EBPV. Yeah it leaking oil, but still operates after I cleaned the sensor last week. Checked the drivers side, UVCH was secure, installed quarter. Retorqued injectors, all were tight but one, retorqued rockers, 3 or 4 tightened some. Since the boost tube was off decieded to remove the foil. Wow that is some good glue. Reinstalled everything and decided to change the fuel filter while I had a minute to do it. Started the truck checked for fuel leaks and took for a test drive.

I just have to say thanks again to all of you here for your info. Because if it wasn't for you all. I never would have retorqued or checked the UVCH.

Forgot to mention......the truck had a b-day this week, 147,000 miles.

Most of us notice the truck seeming to be a little smoother after you re-torque things. Congrats on a job well done.

I need to get this done before camping season starts this spring. I currently have 115k on the clock and the valve covers have never been off on this truck (as far as I can tell).

I'm like Chris. Need to get it done. Also my vc's have never been off since my 01 was new. I tend to get lazy when the temperature is below freezing.

Yea, I know need to work on my signature!!

I get that a lot after vacuuming the floor mats.
I know, I know a cup of dust make a weight difference on 10,000 lb truck
I know the saying "A quarter of prevention is worth a dollar of repairs"
Good job.

What is the torque on the rockers and injecters? I too am one of those guys that needs to do that. I was in there once and failed to do it. Things seem to be rattling a little louder than they used to. Can you hear a difference after retorquing?

Guys, after searching I found these torquing specs from Grant, tdpower, so he gets the credit. Valve cover bolts: 8 ft lbs
Injector hold down bolts: 120 inch pounds or 14nm
rocker arm pedestal bolts to 20 ft-lbs
There was a bunch of other members that posted up torque specs but his was the first I found..
