What should I expect??

I recently bought a 2004 F250 FX4 with a 6.0 and its seems to get about 11 to 12 mpg in town and 13 to 14 hwy. Is this right or is something I can do to increase this mileage? My Dad has a 03 f350 dulley with a 6.0 and gets 16 city and 19 hwy with 4.10 gear and mine has 3.73s. I really expected at least the same.. Any suggestions?

I would ask your question on the F250 diesel section of this forum. You might get an answer. This section has 1/2 ton gassers. But I will say this that even though I owned Dodge Cummins for many years I found that each truck was different even if specs were the same and as the years changed the EPA made the MPG worst, you know for cleaner air? I have always wondered which is worst for the environment, a truck that burns cleaner but has much lower MPGs burning more fuel or one that get more MPGs but using less fuel but is a dirty burn? Chris

Never really looked at it like that. That's a pretty good point, sounds like something for mythbusters!
