Had the light come one my 02 SD 4x4 the other day and notice the ABS activating when I push on the pedal. Take it to my buddy who has anABS scanner, came up with the driverside front wheel sensor bad. I think no biggie, until I get the price $170.00 just for the sensor and the little bit of wire harness. And to think that the VSS sensor in the rear only cost me $25.00. Geez...just had to vent. Also found some rust out on the bottom of my doors as well.
For that price I think I'd consider stopping by a salvage yard and go used.
I just ran across $57.50 each on ebay.

Reason: added more info
I would have gotten from you Ed. But the brakes were acting funny and with a bad storm coming this weekend, figured I would take care of it right away. If it were just me in the truck, I would have ordered from you, bit with a 19 month old, I dont like messing with brakes to long.
Thanks though.
How much is shipping on a newer style tailgate (one with Superduty on it) to PA? I need a new one, but depending on cost it might be cheaper to get one at a junk yard I'm guessing.
I guess you were just venting/beaching about the cost then. It sounds like you got it all sorted out.

Ed,
I looks like I got the links wrong in my post? I'm sure I ordered my seal kits through you at the links I posted? Or did I just get the site naming wrong?

yep good links, well sort of.
the profile one is of my partsguyed log in which I was going to use if I didn't get a diff job when I left that other place. I was setting myself up to work from home.
but since my dealership is paying the bill to advertise I went with the one I used last time I work here.
but I own the domain name www.partsguyed.com so if anything happens this time I'm ready to just say screw it and work from home.
whoops, missed the tailgate deal. shipping is a deal killer on only one peice like a tail gate. then all the hareware and then paint etc. so if you find one in bone yard. jump on it!
Ok then. That clears up my confusion. Now that I've tested a couple of links I see they all go to the correct site (yours).

A problem that I have encountered with Gm trucks doing the same thing. It occures because the unit bearing rusts between the sensor and the bearing assembly. I usually remove the sensor , and clear the rust off (by hand) down to clean metal. grease up the o ring with some dielectric grease, reinstall. works like a charm. Maybe you can try this approach. would save yo a bunch on cash.

It would be nice, but my buddy put a ohm meter on it before and after cleaning and it was dead both times. Just to verify, he checked the other side and it read correctly. He said the windings go bad sometimes in them.
