ok so i got my whole interior stripped down everything taken out of it, hopeuflly puttin the herculiner down on the floor this weekend. What exactly do I have to do to prep the surface? Also do i need to remove the paint down to bare metal or what?
When I did mine I just scuffed up the paint some to give it something to bite to and then wiped it down with a cleaner, some type of paint prep dealios you can find at the auto parts store will work.
Herculiner is great stuff, the entire floor of my bronco is coated with it. I scuffed it up with some pretty heavy sandpaper, then cleaned it good with thinner or wax/grease remover. Have never had any peel off, its very durable.
You need to scuff up teh surface its going on real good. Best bet is to strip it down to metal first but i know alot of guys dont want to do that. It will make for a great liner for the cab.
Do yourself a favor and buy an abrasive attachment for your drill and use that. That crappy hand scrubber they give you will take for ever. I just scuffed the paint with the scrubber and mine has held up great.
