You can't expect the tailgate mounted camera to cover all spots behind the bumper. That is technically impossible. I do have that kind of coverage on my motorhome, but the camera hangs 10' above the bumper and shoots almost straight down.
I mounted my camera for the Pioneer System in the handle of the tailgate. I played around alot with different angles to be sure I would get a view wide enough to show both ends of the rear bumper for the jack-knifing ability without damage.
As for a compressor system......if you want to spend alot of $ put an Oasis system in, you will never run out of air (200 psi, 100% duty rating and a 5 gal. tank and doesn't take all day to fill up my 37's).

The oasis is an engine driven compressor on a winch motor.... Not a bad set up, but I dont think its worth the money once you figure what it actually is.
Very pricey indeed. Think I paid $1200 for mine. I fabbed and mounted everything myself so I saved quite a bit there. The $ I spent was well worth it as it gets alot of use running air tools, etc. Viair' are good too but won't last as long with the amount of use I put it through, their output being what it is, leaves alot to be desired when filling up large tires or running die grinders. It all depends on the amount/ type of use as to whether or not the amount of $ is worth it or not.

correct.. need lots more air for the kinds of tasks you mentioned..
There is pretty easy and affordable way to have powerful compressor anywhere on the road.
For about $150 you can buy 1800W inverter, that will power 1.5 or with good luck even 2 HP contractor grade compressor, that run as low as $60.
The set will weigh about 30-40 lb, but than you have inverter to use for microwave and coffeemaker
Way ahead of ya. LOL I have a 2500 watt inverter behind my rear seat. Works great!

My Industrial 2800/5600 watt inverter/charger will not only power all the compressor, microwaves and coffeemakers on your truck but will blow your batteries sky-high on charging mode. Main use for it is in motorhome,
but tell me when you want

I don't need to power my house! I use it to run simple hand tools and charge batteries. Small tasks it handles nicely.
Here's what the tailgate handle cam mount will get you.....
thanks.. I just mounted the new handle and camera assembly on my f350.. but raining a lot so not excited about laying under the truck to hook up the wires to the sender. I have the wireless Peak license plate mount camera, changing to the tailgate cam
Not an '08 gate, but stock '07. The camera is from Pioneer and is mounted under the lift portion of the handle to open tailgate. It's in the plastic "underpart" of the handle assy. Just have to be careful when opening tailgate not to grab the camera when lifting handle, just have to spread your fingers around it then lift the handle. I tried mounting this thing everywhere and am finally happy with it there as I can remove the SnugTop w/out losing the camera.
I also tried a wireless but being a longbed, CC there was too much distance and interferance with the wireless signal and the picture would get fuzzy when on the brakes.
