I've had a fuel leak for a bit now but it has gotten much worse lately. So went by the Ford dealer to see if they could tell me what the issue is, of course they were able to. The let me know that I have two leaks, one on top and I need a new fuel filter service (as they called it) and in the front near the bottom some where they told me that the O-Rings on the Fuel-Water valve are worn out, which makes sense because it only leaks bad when its pretty cold out.
Well they want $335 to do this. That seems really steep to me for some o-rings and a filter, even with labor. So I'm taking suggestions please.
just go to autozone and buy a filter for the fuel bowl. it will come with an integrated cap so you can throw the stock cap on the shelf somewhere. as for the fuel drain o-rings you can go to guzzle's website its: www.dieselorings.com and order a set for your drain. he even has instructions on his maintenance page on how to do it. very easy. also might i suggest you get the blue o-rings as they are like super duper o-rings and should last longer than the normal ones. just my opinion...........
whole thing will cost you 30 bucks..................

To that I would like to add, well, nothing. Good post.
Check out the following link for a source of the O rings you need for the fuel drain O ring replacement. Gives you the info on where to order high qualilty O-rings you need and there is an instruction sheet for how to do the install.
The site is commonly called Guzzle's site and it is run by Bob
DieselOrings.com is based in Greeley, Colorado and ships daily Monday through Friday and most Saturdays.
Their fuel service sounds like replacing the fuel filter and solving the leak through the installation of the new gaskets that go along with the fuel filter element.
Spend a little bit of time and you should have most of the $335 still in your pocket.
Yep I have already ordered it and gotten an email that its being prepared to ship (which I think must be standard).
I also found the whole thing new on Checker Auto's site for 50 bucks... And the Stealer (<--- I like that) wants so much. I'm sending Ford a note to let them know that had they given me a reasonable price they would have made a few bucks on me. If they had even told me $150 I prolly wouldn't have posted about it, just being honest, I'd said get-er-dun...
And yes I will.
The only thing I'm not sure of is how is that leaking in the front when the valve is up top also???
