possible option?

I live 40 miles south of Moberly Missouri where Mack Products has their headquarters. They manufacture complete beds for older trucks and I'm sure they are mostly if not all for 1/2 ton. However, they have all the metal working tools there and the dies for the script so what would be the difference to extend the metal farther / longer to make it the correct width for your tailgate and front header?? They would probably charge extra for this service, but if none can be found . . . ? Maybe they would even do it for less if you could promise an order of 3 or 4 together? Just a thought.

Their phone number is 1-660-263-7444 and fax number 1-660-263-4403

Also, Bruce Horkey?? seems to be a reliable source for bed wood of most any species of wood - maybe he makes the joint strips at his shop and could supply longer ones for the 8 ft. bed.

Hope some of this rambling helps someone. Jay

If somebody wants to have beds engineered, here's a good source. They are reproducing the Flat Fender Dodge Power Wagon beds and doing a good business of it. http://www.precisioncoachworks.com/.

Also, I second the recommendation of Bruce Horkey Wood Products. He's a great guy, does a lot for the hobby, and offers good products. Here's his web site. Home page Horkey wood and Parts
