Okay! I had to go look. Both my 66 F100's have the holes and both glove box doors are original to these trucks. These must be for the early data tag locations and Ford just never stopped punching them out.
ok thanks everybody for your in put! helped me and him out tremendously! now were probably going to do some looking at a retired ford mechanic for some badges and warrenty tags! he bought everything left in stock when a new body style came out. he's starting to get old and i want to buy a few more things off him before he stops sellin' his old NOS parts. a few months ago we bought a set of NOS plug wires, NOS bushins still sqwishy, and some other NOS junk i cant remember, i WILL NOT be posting this mans information because i dont want to ruin it for me. next week some time im going to look in his basement to see if he has any 1930 model AA parts. i will let you know how it goes down homie! 1965 out!
1 from a known 63 has rivets in the holes with the original white paint ( my Uni
1 from 66s have no holes (there is the oil service paper decal over them)
and 1 from a 62 has the tag still attached.
and the one in Christine 64 has the holes but no ****?????

I'd be amazed if the retired Ford mechanic has any blank Warranty Plates (tags), as these were only used on the assembly line, were not available at the parts counter.
It was possible, but a royal PITA and a red tape rigamarol to get a replacement Warranty Plate...for a specific vehicle ONLY.
If the original was damaged or missing, the LEGAL owner of the vehicle had to provide the title and sign an affidavit so stating he owned the vehicle...in the presence of the local polizei.
Then this info was passed onto the Ford Dealer's parts dept. The parts manager then sent the affidavit and a copy of the title to FoMoCo.
In about three weeks, the replacement Warranty Plate and the rivets to mount it (that were not available anywhere else) with all the stamped codes specific to the vehicle...arrived at the dealership.
The replacement Warranty Plate was installed by the dealership ONLY...on the vehicle.
All this jazz was required...by all the automakers (actually, the NHTSA)...in order to prevent auto-theft.

I do have one question, in your first post here, you said your F100 has a devorced transfer case, my F100 has a married transfer case, idoes yours have a case from a F250? Or is it something differant. I ask because I had a person tell me today that the 66 F100 4x4 that he had was International Harvester set-up. I had not heard of this before.
