Steering Wheel question..
I don't know if anyone has done this or not..
I have a 1990 F250 with a worn out steering wheel that is missing chunks out of the outer rim. Currently I have it covered with a beautiful ghetto wheel cover, but as I am redoing my whole interior, I want to make it better. The fly in the ointment is that the wheel has the cruise buttons in it and I want to retain them (becasue the cruise actually works.)
I know Grant makes plenty or replacement steering wheels and has an adapter kit to mount new cruise buttons, but the kit alone is $145 not including the steering wheel.
Anyway, has anyone ever swapped in a steering wheel from a 1987-1992 Mustang Fox body(pre-airbag)? The wheel is a little thicker and has the cruise buttons in it already, I am just not sure if the shaft splines will match up or the connections will be the same..

I can't say about the Fox Mustang steering wheels. I can say stay away from the Grant steering wheels, they suck.
If you just want the steering wheel covered try this. I have it and it looks almost as good as stock. Its Pilot Automotive SW-101.

Here it is on my truck. I centered one seam at the bottom and the other 2 at 45 degree angles from center on top so its symmetrical.
By the way, I actually think the air bag wheel is nicer looking.
