Code reader
I am interested in purchasing a problem code reader for my 2005 F150 and 2003 Expedition. Can anyone point me in the right direction with respect to where to buy one, and what would be the best one to buy. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking $100 - $200 range would still be practical for me to spend, but if I don't need to spend that much, I won't.
What kind of "options" do the more expensive ones have that make them worth the extra $$ ?

Great. What I like about it is it'll also work on GM, Chrysler, and imports as well. And the fact that it's upgradeable.

What I am liking about it is that it reads "real time" data, as you drive on a road test, and when the vehicle "faults", you push the save button and it records a period before and after the trigger is pushed.
I eliminated the vacuum leak using this method, and discovered the fault code was caused by water in the plug socket. Changed the plugs and she runs like a top again!!

I have the previous version (elmscan5 USB) and I'm thrilled with it. I also have the enhanced ford diagnostics software add-on that allows the unit to show the ford specific codes from various modules. Support for the software (Scan XL) comes from a company called Palmer Performance Engineering and they provided top notch support when I needed a license converted for an upgrade to the newest version. When I purchased my unit, I actually found that Amazon had a better price and it was sold through the same company.
