Hey guys I am looking for someone who has or knows somone who has actually put a Snorkel on their bronco. I have a 1995 bronco and I have seen a 92-95 bronco running around my town with an ARB snorkel but have never been able to catch up to it. I have beaten the 4x4 shops to death in town & gotten 2 answers build a jank looking one youself out of pvc or i can cut a hole in my fender & pay shipping & handling to and from the distributors untill i find one that works.
Anyone know thw part# of the one that works?
Well thanks for telling me exactly what I had stated that I did not want to hear.
Yes I have attempted to cross a water hazard I say attempted because I have failed twice & locked up two motors.
I have found the answer through another forum, Someone who "HAS" installed a snorkel on his Bronco. If any one is interested the Safari Snorkel #SS395-HF for a land rover discovery fits with little more than normal modification.
I've wanted to do this also. I have seen it done on another site also. I would recomend running it up the pax side. (It cuts a little of your veiw)Better do a good inspection of your ignition system also. I dont think you can actually forde water as deep as your distributer even with the snorkel. But the engine can suck water just by splashing. It would stop that for sure.
Safari snorkels apparently has an application for the F-150/Bronco, or at least some other application that fits the Bronco nicely, check the Ford --> Bronco --> ads in this venezuelan page so you check it out. No fab, it's factory made: TuCarro.com Venezuela. It's a white Bronco with a black top.
All you have to do for the breather ports is go to a hardware store that sells pneumatic air hose by the foot and you can make your own mine breathe right into the top of the cab via the topper mount a-pillar. & as far as the wiring getting wet just go to autozone buy the big tube of dielectric grease & fill all of your connections with the grease. also clean all ground points and coat them in clear silicone. hey encho thanks for the site i will check it out. & the fording the stream is not about ego it is about getting to the other side of my property faster if i could cut through the stream i can cut 15 minutes off my tracking time (i have lost many a wounded animal due to the time of driving around). I have tried filing the stream with rocks to lessen the depth & was fined $1500 + the cost that the removal company charged.
