I recently bought the DJM Drop Kit and am looking to get new king pins installed. Question is - where can I get new king pins (or a kit) and what years will fit my '66? Thanks a lot.
I just did this.... went to carquest, they had a machine shop in the back of the store. cost 75 bucks for them to press the new bushings in and ream them the king pin set was another 55 bucks to buy, i got them at autozone. are you swapping spindels for disc brakes?
I am looking to swap to the disk brakes as soon as the guy is done taking everything off of his '77 for me. He is giving me everything I need for the conversion but I wanted to get new king pins so I don't have to worry about them later.
You need the king pins and bushings that DJM sells. The piece of crap they make may may or may not have the correct bore to accept the stock diameter 65 or 66 pin.
Call them and get the correct year off them as they made them and know where the king bolt is in relation to the King pin.
