I got my turbo back on and the marmon clamp for the oulet side went on with ease. The inleat side from the y-pipe is being a serious pain. I cannot get it to squeeze together enough to ge the nut on the threads.
I checked the seating of the y-pipe to the turbo and it seems to fit flush all around. All i can see right now is put a longer t-bolt in the clamp ot buy a new one. looks like it may have been spread open whne i took it off. Anyone run into this before?
The way I did it was take the nut off the bolt. It's hard to do but try and get both hands in there and squeeze hard and with the tip of your fingers get the nut to start on the bolt. Then you can tighten it up with a deep scoket. You might have to tighten the clamp a little then use a bar and hit down on the y pipe then tighten a little more then hit down and keep doing that till it's tight.
Well I must have somehow bent the old one out of whack. Picked up a new one today and it went on in minutes. Reconditioned turbo is now all bolted down. Now just have to finish putting the rest back together. I also got the bigger turbo drain tube put in.
