Greetings all
This acquisition was a "barn find" by my son a few months ago.
The truck is a 1976 F150 Ranger, 360, auto, std cab and at one time had what looks to be factory A/C.
The compressor is gone but may ultimately be replaced.
The body of the truck is super straight and the color is yellow. All brightwork is currently intact, also in good shape.
The truck was used for farm work and the mileage is approx. 73K.
The seat needs work, carpet needs replacing and alot of detail type work will be done as time allows.
We've had to replace the carb, added an external fuel filter, replaced oil, filter, valve cover gaskets, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, etc.
Right now I think I have one dead or semi-dead cylinder.
I have to get out and do a compression and cylinder leakdown test. At freeway speeds it blows oil out the PVC inlet/filler cap.
If I find the cylinder truly is dead, over time, I'd like to get a reman'd 390 shortblock, beetter intake, have some heads built and aim for the signature 390 (330/425) GTA engine of the '67 Fairlane.
I bought this truck with my son for $700.
Last week I replaced the drag links, pittman balljoint and sleeve, plus took a couple turns at the sector shaft. I've replaced the front shox but the rear are airshocks which still work good.
The very first thing I did was to install a pair of 2" drop shackles to the rear along with new grade 8 gardware/locknuts.
Anyhow, that's where things are at. The truck still drives good despite the slight roughness from the engine and I've already made my first dump run:-)
On a personal note, my son and I have Ford Blue coursing through our veins.
We're BRONCO FREAKS and have had 5 latemodels between us.
He's still in the process of 2WDriving his 96 Bronco, which is almost done.
Will post pics once it's on the road.
I'm a motorcyclist too and every spare opportunity I have, you'll find me in the saddle of either a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter 1500 or our two-up ride, an '06 Classic 1500, both injected bikes.
Looking forward to future interactions with y'all and especially with regard to the venerable FE Engines!
Have a great one!

I really like Ford trucks and the 1973-9 F150 Rangers are nice trucks that really catch my eye.
I see you`ve found the 1973 - 1979 F-100 And Larger F-Series Trucks, I`m sure the members there would like to hear about your truck so drop an intro in there too.
Post an intro in your local Washington Chapter soon too: Washington Chapter - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
Catchy sig:-)
I didn't actually know that there was a WA chapter of FTE but will for sure post an intro.
I see you've quite the collection of Ford vehicles! VERY nice!
Many years ago I had a 67 Mustang GTA FB with the hi-pro 289.
If I had a dollar for every time I wished I had it back, I could buy one:-)
Thanks,
Rok
