Mine's been on for years, it's disconnected at the sensor on the rear axle. If your truck is veering or pulling to the right, I'd say you have a caliper on the front seized up, likely front left, not allowing the left side to apply. This can also force more braking pressure to the other wheels, which may be part of the reason for the rears to want to lock up.
I'm in Ontario, so here it's just normal operating practice to tear the fronts apart and free them up, usually every spring, on all my vehicles.
