i have a 1999 SD 4 WD that i replaced the ball joints on. there is very little room between the grease sert on the top and the axle.i used boog ball joints, and on the top i used a 90 degree grease sert.is there anything that anyone did different that gave them more room? thank you for any info you could give me.
I used a straight zerk, but with a 90 degree fitting on the grease gun.
The zerk is very short so the clearance is there for the axle to rotate.
Using the 90 degree fitting, rotate the axle to allow the clearance to get in there and lube the ball joint.
You can get them at NAPA.
well thank you very much kwikkordead fot the info.were going to try that and see what happens.boy i am glad this forum is hear,it has helped me on a few problems.
This is what I use to grease the small straight fitting. More clearance that way. I have heard the 90* fitting can get knocked off while turning in 4x4.
