Okay so the fuel pressure regulator is about 150-250. The stock lift pump is about 90. Can the stock lift pump draw through the electric intank pump?? If so i will just do that. I am tired of the noise and crap. I want this truck to be mostly stock. I am picking up the new injectors and return line kit tomorrow for 500 even. Not too damn bad if i do say so. The injector codes are BB as per fords recommendation. Is that right? So for the pump, should i regulate the pressure or install a stock lift pump, the only thing with that is can the stock lift pump draw through the electric intank pump when it is unpowered!!!???
No it will never be right trying to draw through the intank pump. It is easy enough to remove it and replace it with a diesel pickup tube or even just a hose added on to the pickup tube in place of the tank.
If you go the regulator route and later decide to install another tank you will need one from a fuel injected gasser.
what about the mr. gasket diesel pump that is about 80?? Would it draw draw from the intank??? Sorry for the retarded questions, it si just that the IP was able to work for over three gallons of diesel before it died. That is the IP drawing by itself, no pumps. So if it could do that, maybe the inline diesel pump at 5-9 psi would work. Then there is the regulator. i am not sure!!!
Heres is a case of that and it came from the factory like this. The state got a new 1 ton service truck Dodge and they could never make it run decant (brand new), they finally sold it to the city, and they couldnt make it run right either, so they sold it to a customer cheap with less than 5000 miles.
Now this is a carberated truck but it is in they same year dodge changed to fuel injection.
I checked the fuel pressure and it was way low but the pump was good, so I started down the line looking for some obstruction and noticed it was factory wired for an intank pump, then followed the wiring to the firewall and there wwas a plug with nothing to hook to. Dropped the tank and removed the pump and he had a good running rig 6 years old with less than 5,000 miles.
