slow release back brakes

i ve changed the back rubber hose and the steel lines and wheel cylinders, plus the master and booster. some times after some driving the brake pedel becomes harder and then at red lites the back brakes are slow to let go. let the truck sit engine off and problem goes away. im now thinking the rear abs modulator mounted on framerail under the master. seems like ive changed everything else. just ran 3000 miles to texas and back no problems , till now. 93 f250 7.3 all stock, 382.000 miles

stiff pedal is often a result of bad brake booster or vacuum pump. How do you know the rear brakes are not releasing at stop light, or shall I say, how do you know that ONLY the rear brakes are hanging up, and not the fronts too?

Make up a short length of hard line and bypass the RABS module and you will know one way or the other. It could be the problem but a lot of $ to replace if it`s not.

Is it possible that your emergency brake cables are sticking in the housings. That would also account for your brake pedal to be firmer.
