auto trans adjustment?
i have a 84 f150 with an aod transmission. i had the carb off recently to rebuild and replace and now when i drive it the trans shifts differerent. It jerks between 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th seem to shift at a lower speed. i dont know if those 2 are related or not but i am sure it is different. i know the linkage is the problem because it got messed with. the rod looks like a tube with a flat end with a small set screw to adjust. btw the fluid is clean and fresh (under 20,000 miles)

There should be a white plastic socket in the top end of the rod that connects onto the ball of the throttle linkage. These get brittle & can fall to pieces after they are disturbed ( I had it happen on mine) , which then affects the setting. - may be what has happened?
