I have a 78 f-150 with a 302 I just got headers put on but they were really close to the starter. after i drove it for a while and then turned it off. A couple minites later went to start it and it would not turn over. so I waited about 10 min then it did. what would you recomend for this problem.
should I wrap the headers or put a heat shield on the starter?.
My suggestion would be to put a heat shield on the starter... the wraps on headers work well, but the constant heating and cooling tends to trap moisture and cause premature rusting of the headers. You could have the headers ceramic coated, but that is fairly expensive and I would still keep a shield on the starter..
