1979 Ford F350 stalling

1979 Ford F350 stalling
My "79 F350 takes about 20 times to start. Each time I try to start it the motor starts and cuts out within a second or two. I changed the module
and it did the trick (for about a week). I noticed under the hood on the drivers side wheel well there is a small plate with springs on it. I never knew what they were for but I did notice one of the studs that the spring was
on had broke and was sparking. Can that be the reason two modules
shorted out? Mike NY
