i have a 99 F-250 with v10 im looking at putting a trans temp gauge on were do the sender unit go in at on the tranny. you have to tap a new hole or what.
There is a bolt on the drivers side of the trans in front of the big black electrical connector just above the pan. Pull it out and put your temp sender in there. Or drill and tap the pan if you really want to.
if your instruction's say to put it in the pan then put it in the pan so the probe is in trans fluid,Gigger
It doesn't need to go in the pan. Sure, that would work fine but its unnecessary. The sender will be in constant contact with trans fluid in the test port and its already the right thread size (for most senders). Its a no brainer really.
