Hummm..... Shift-errr problems
I'm working with a 1991 F-150 SC , short bed, fleet side, 302-5.0 liter
I did some modifications here in the last year .
Like got rid of that weak AOD for a SB C6. (drive shaft needs 3" cut back on the super cab short bed if you do this too)
And I swapped the little 8.8 axle for a Dana 70 dually out of and 81 F350.
Front and rear suspension brackets bolted right up with little drilling.
My problem is...the AOD shift column stroke/notches are not matching up with the C6.
(AOD is 4 speed .....C6 is 3 speed)
So....I figured I just go real old style and run a tall stick floor shifter
Problem is I can only find 1 version by Lokor. (and it's pretty pricy at $240 Ebay)
All the rest seem to be for cars...they sit much too low for my application.
Dose anyone have some insight or experience to share on this.
Thank you,
Noneshere
PS.. the engine has also seemed to aquired a nasty surge over the winter.
It's like it lopes for 3 cylinder fires and then surges....1-2-3-surge.....over and over.
It only dose it once it reaches normal operating temp though.
I run through the ignition system all is clean and looks good
AIV? Intake plentium gasket? Maybe an injector?
whatcha think?
