Ok I just bought this 1990 ford 4x4 short wheel base pick up it has 31in a/t's with a 3in lift but the clutch needs ajusting how do i do that. a buddy said u do it from the slave cyl.
The clutch is hydraulic and is self adjusting. If you are having problems with clutch disengagement check the bushes in the pedal linkage and check the firewall for cracking/flexing.
alright, when i bought the truck the pedal was really hard and now between shifts i still have power, i still have speed but it smokes when im slowing down, my buddys did the same thing when he put his new clutch in he unhooked the pedal from the master cyl and adjusted it and its been fine ever since but since he doesnt have time to help me i was trying to find somone else that knew how to do it
You can press a new lever on the cross-shaft that connects the pedal to the master cylinder, but that's a set-it-once-and-be-done-with-it adjustment. It's not something that will move over time. If the clutch pedal comes (or can be pulled) all the way up to the stop, the pedal is adjusted properly.
