I know this may sound remedial and it's kind of odd considering i know quite a bit about the mechanical aspect of vehicles...but....What is GVWR?
Gross vehicle weight.........R? I know that for my truck its 8800 lbs. But what is it? Is that with a full tank, a full load, and a driver??
it just means that at anytime if you drive the truck on a scale it shouldn't be over that weight so it includes gas, you, and whatever else is adding weight.
people go over it all the time....not saying its a good idea just plea'n the 5th on this one
It's a performance rating by the manufacturer. You can license your truck for more and be legal. DOT enforcement is done on your licensed weight. NOT your door sticker.
