It won't do any harm.

Do straight stacks and it will give you a lilttle more power! And will sound so much better.

Can't go wrong with stacks!

Just make sure nothing that can burn touched them in the bed.

They will probably make the turbo spool better.

Yes do make a guard so nothing can slide or blow against the pipes i the bed.

I have seen several water coolers, plastic tool boxes and lunch boxes ruined when the slid against the pipes while driving.

And I have seen a bale of straw burning when it slid against the pipes.

Big load, big hill, those pipes can get to be 7 or 8 hundred degrees.

I have a stack off a semi, reaches from the floor of the bed to the top of the cab 5" or so wide, gonna send the exhaust trough a glasspack then up through the bed, lookin like next payday if nothin else breaks on me!

will be doing a single 5" stack on mine this spring. got 2 of em on ebay for $20 shipped, If I remember correctly they are 5 foot long, figure I can cut em down if need be so they don't go past the top of the cab. Thinking mine will be straight piped

Maybe it was just me, but I cut the glass pack off my truck and man what a difference, more power, better fuel mileage, and alot less engine rumble in the cab.
Those glass packs will create back pressure on your engine. They sound good on a gasser but I'd skip 'em on your diesel.

thanx for posting that link El Camino, very informative!!

I especially appreciate the diagram. I myself am going to run a single 5", but wasn't really sure where I was going to use the flex pipe.
