360 headers
I have a '76 F250. A friend of mine has a '73 that he will give me the headers off of, he didnt like them because of the noise. The first question is; will they fit around the steering gear and the starter. The second question is, is it worth the fuss to install them? Do they give better power or mileage? And are they prone to leaking at the gasket?

Don, You will get different opinions on this, but I'd say not. If you are looking for a noticable increase in power, and gas milage, I doubt that you will find it. The noise level is increased, as your friend found out. Headers along with other engine enhancment make up a total package. I had them on a 352 engine before rebuild and found that I was in the gas more just to hear then, therefore less gas milage.
They are hotter and can cause failure in the starter, and you will have to unbolt the header to remove it.
I doubt that you can recover the costs.
