synthetic

My truck has 130000 miles. I have always used Delo 400 15/40.
Should I switch to a synthetic?
Thank You!

The use of synthetic vs conventional oil comes down to what you think is best for your truck. Some have switched from conventional to synthetic then back to conventional because their truck ran better before the switch. Some have switched to synthetic and not gone back.

There are many many threads that discuss oil on FTE. Use the search feature and you will be entertained for hours reading opinions.

I have never heard of anyone switching at 130K. I am personally a synthetic user, however if I had 130K on my truck with no problems I would be inclined to stick with what has been working.

If I lived in your area of the country I would stick with the 15W-40.

IMO, it is never too late to switch to synthetic oil. Every lubricant in my X is synthetic and has been that way for 83,000 miles with no problems.

As Cowboy65 says, the reading on this topic is limitless on this site.

I switched around 130k, but thats b/c my truck doesn't live in Texas anymore. Actually I don't know what the PO used but I chose to spend the extra $$ per gal. My truck likes the syn alot better.

I use the 5W40 syn. in sunny Ca. My truck likes it and that's almost like keeping the wife happy. It's worth it vrs. the hassle.

me too in so cal. i can see the the pros and cons from both sides but i see more benefits with our motor but it's not like 15w40 with 5000k mile changes is doing harm.

LOL, I hear you about keeping the wife happy. Mine gets so grumpy sometimes when I'm working on my X that I have to feed her with a sling shot.
