Well I needed a brown seat because I have robbed the capyion chairs out of my brown supercab that I am using the body on my 84.
So today I find a super seat (bench) in a 87 xlt lariat loaded supercab loaded cab, so instead of the seat I got the cab and dead 7.3 (now I heve the rockers I wanted).
The interior is the same color as my 86 dually and is absolutely perfect.
What all do I have to pull to use the electric windows in my dually. and how much trouble is it. Locks too.
I think the wires for the windows are tied into the ignition. So you'd have to run a couple of wires through the door where it hinges. I'd have to look at mine. The lock switches are always hot, so they'd have to be tied into a constantly hot wire and they run through the door where it hinges. Or maybe you could tie the lock switch wiring into the door lighting switch. Take a good look at the donor truck and snip the wires at the door hinge area. Then you'll have your wire harnesses at the switches. I'm not sure where they tie into the truck. I can't even find it in my Chilton's.
I put the electric windows, and locks on my 85 before I switched cabs. I used the whole doors off a donor truck. The wiring came off of another donor. It is fairly easy, I started at the drivers door and removed the plug in at the door, followed the wire behind the kick panel to the fuse box and unpluged it there. The wire goes from the fuse box up and over the dash next to the firewall, down to the passenger side kick panel. Easyest is to remove the entire dash board. I had to use the circut breaker from the donor in the fuse box. Entire project took around 2 hours.
Thats what I needed to know thanks, I am going to use the 88 dash and door panels any way. It is the same color and with the lariat package they are sweet. The carpet is mine is great but this one looks as good as new.
This pickup used to belong to a neighbor of mine and stayed under a carport all its life.
