I have a 1978 F150 2wd sb. I bought dennis carpenter cab/body mount bushings a while back and finally got the body onto the truck. It seems that the cab sits too high in the back, and I had to add shims under the box almost 1/2-3/4 inches tall, just to get the box body lines to come close to macthing the cab/fender lines. Is it possible that they will settle/squish down after use and I will have to re-align everything with use? Or should I take the metal pieces out from inside the rubber mounts and cut them slightly shorter, to get the cab closer to the frame? Will doing that stress the rubber too much once tightened back up? Please help and thanks!
