rear end gears

I have a 9 inch 31 spline rear with something like 3.10 gears. I want to find something with 4.11 gears, I have heard that some 4 by 4's had them. Is this true and if so what years, makes, and models came with 4.11 gears.I appreciate any response. Thanks in advance.

rear end gears

My 1977 F150 4X4 came with 4.11s. Not sure what other years had them. When I replaced the ring
and pinion I wasn't sure what gears I had, so I
simply jacked the rear end up and counted how
many drive shaft revolutions caused BOTH rear tires to rotate once. Just past 4 so I assumed
4.11.

I know you could get 4.10's. but 4.11 isn't correct I don't believe.

If you want to switch to 4.10's, why don't you? Take the carrier out, buy the right gears, and put em in.. It's actually cheaper, easier, and FASTER than swapping entire axles..
