transmission question

It is a 86 ford f250 had a 6.9L disel the moter was toast so it is gone i am wanting to put a 351 in it it has a 4 speed trans and it is a 4x4. not sure what the transmision make is i just know the shaft is to big to work without changing it or putting a whole nother trans in it.

The 4 speeds should swap, but I'm pretty sure the gear ratios are different between diesel and gas units. That makes sense as the gas units rev higher than the diesels. You should find a taller gear set in the diesel unit. You'll need the bell housing and clutch setup from the 351 also.
