Ok how do I tell wich transfer case I have? I had it rebuilt but I never asked if it was an NP203 or NP205. This is in a 74F250 FWD Highboy. Thanks for any enlightenment you can provide...
Kinda confused by what you mean by part time and full time transfer case. I have a second shift lever that alows me to shift from 2WD to 4WD high range, 4WD low range or neutral. Would this be considered part time?
My parent's had a '79 F150 that didn't have full time transfer case, and I have a '78 F150 that doesn't have a full time transfer case...But we have different cases..So what transfer cases where offered?
Matt, please post the questions separate to that of someone elses questions, but you need more info, like are both trucks auto or is one standard, if both are auto they both should have the same transfer NP203
Geffery, According to my old Chilton book you should have a NP 205 two speed case.It should be whats called a divorced transfercase, ( its not fastened directly to the transmission with a small adapter ).
They have a separation they havn't gotten divorced.
I would like to install an Advance Adapters 2spd. Road Ranger Gear splitter, I am not sure if they are still carrying them. I am doing a complete resto on this truck but I want to get the damn thing running before I go off on any more expensive tangents...Thanks for the info.
