Carb Options

I know I read a post a while back on the different places you could get a one barrel carb for the 300, but I cannot find it anywhere!

So as much as I hate to ask, can someone either direct me to the forum that has the options on it, or tell me what are the 1 barrel options for an 86 F-150 I-6 with a Duraspark II conversion.

I purchased a Rally carb off Ebay when I performed the conversion, but I'm convinced it is not working correctly. Also, it doesn't have a venturi vacuum port on it for my vacuum advance so its time to buy a good one and see if it solves my stuttering problem.

Thanks for any help!

I emailed Weber and they said their k550-38 conversion kit for a jeep will work. They want me to send pics of the stk carb setup to confirm linkages and filter options. Total price is around $400. Email me with your email and I will fwd what they tell me.

The Weber came from the factory on Mustang II v6, and IIRC the pinto. Had a couple and don't really have anything good to say about them. It's been allot of years but best I remember they were hard to keep running right. Like I said it's been years and I can't remember all the problems but do know I promised myself never to own another one.

If it was me and you were going to do a 2bl adapter anyway I'd go with a 2150 style carb. They're good reliable cards and cheap.

If you'll take a look in your Duraspark thread you posted a couple months ago there are some PN's provided by myself and a couple other members. If you are wanting to stay stock, then the 1bbl is about all you got. You are going to have to have an adapter to run anything bigger on the 1bbl intake, and if you plan on going larger than a 2bbl you are gonna need an aftermarket Intake to get ya there.

Hope this helps ya!

Good call Desperado. I had forgotten about the information in my earlier thread. I just read back through it and remembered all the fun I had this past summer... I think I'm going to purchase another carb this week to see if it fixes the ol' girl. Rock Auto is going to be the source - UNITED REMAN. Part # 77587.

I think thats the same carb I bought, at least I think so. I can't find the receipt anymore but I'm almost positive that it was a United Re-manufactured Holley 1bbl. The carb works great

I took the Carter apart and see what looks like a holly jet could you not size it and drill it out a little more?
