Got my oil cooer put back in today. Was trying to get the up pipe out and gave up due to 38* and over 15mph winds. Freaking cold. ( yep I wimped out)
Anyways, I got one of the nuts off from the top part at the y-pipe. Looks like the bottom is easiest with 2 ppl and a few extensions. One from the top and one from the bottom. Is ther an easy way to get TO the other bolt on the top part? The few minutes I spent on it looked near impossible. The turbo is out and the manifold, if that helps.
Once I ge this up pipe changed out, shouldn't be too bad putting everything back together. Supposed to be warmer next weekend.
I just installed my Sinister Diesel EGR Delete kit yesterday and I feel your pain. That lower "up pipe to Y pipe" bolt is a bear. I just ended up laying on top of the motor, going under the Y pipe with my right hand with a wrench and over the top with my left hand/wrench. It was certainly a bugger...
I've been looking the the guy who posted pictures of how he managed to remove it. Seems like He zip tied his wrench on top bolt and the other. Had nice pictures but can't find it. Bummer!
I should learn to do more bookmarking these things!
I ended up getting mine from underneath w/help from My Son. He came in from drivers side, I came from passenger side w/extension(s) and a swivel. Was not bad w/help.

Looks like this might be my best bet. My son will be home Friday after lunch, and I think I am taking the day off to work on it. (ANy reason to take a vacation day )
Been using alot of PB blaster lately on this thing. What a miracle in a can that stuff is. Don't think I could have gotten the turbo apart without it.
