Well I want to know, if the driveline components will hold up, like the dana 44 front end and the 8 inch rear end. Cause I found a guy who will let me have a 466E for cheap (Actually trade) and I would like to put the Engine in my F250, and if I do that then I have a powerstroke that needs a home, so I thought, get a tranny, put the F150's transfercase on the powerstrokes tranny, put them in the F150 and just leave it like that (If I am putting a powerstroke in my little F150, then its not going to be moddified) but I want to know if it can be done cause all I would want to do is swap engines, and redo the wiring. So let me know if it sounds good. Thanks guys, much appreciated.
what year is the f150? if it has the ttb dana 44 i don't think it will hold the extra weight of the engine. if it does happen to work i'm sure there will be problems with the alignment. the rear i'm not to sure. would be a really cool swap though.
Lol all I ever own seems to be 95's so my 150 is a 95 just like my F250. I just want some pro's info, plus I don't see why the 44 wouldn't hold up, cause some F150 4X4's had a 460 in them, and I figure if it can hold a 460 it can hold a stroke.
Can't be any worse than the 472 I put into a trike frame once. Or the 455 into a chevelle. That one was fun. I put a camaro body on a F150 4x4 chassis once too. It had 44 inch mudders on it. Those were the days.
You can do anything with a cutting torch and a mig welder darn near.
sounds like alot of work and money and i cant see the real advantage, its still gonna be a f150 unless u put bigger leafs on i believe the 150's got smaller brakes and such so for towing wont be anything great, Id sell the powerstoke as a whole or part it out and pocket the money, Thats my idea though,
4X4 150's have the same spring size as 2WD F250's. Plus I want to keep the 250 and put a 466 in it, and call it the Cummins Killer. And I am not going to be using the truck as a towing truck, I would just use it to drive, and maybe a little hauling, like fire wood, etc.
I have a friend with a 466 in a mid 80's f250. He's got it hooked up to I believe a 9 or 10 speed tranny. He had to mod a doghouse in the cab to cover the motor but it's cool. It's got a little over 900 lb/ft. of torque. He said he had about 200 man hours into the operation.
Lol well I guess if I have to put a dog house in the truck and use a semi tranny I will put a CAT in it and a 1https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/923965-powerstroke-into-a-f150.html3 speed EATON. And I would love to put a straight axle front end on my 250 (I really would)
I don't know when I could get pics. He is a buddy I race with and he lives 60 miles away in a town I don't go to very often. If I get there I sure will. He is an older guy not very computer savvy just a hell of a mechanic so I'll have to get the pics myself. He used to use it as a tow vehicle, if he did yet I could easy get a pic at the track this summer. He now uses an old dodge motorhome with a transplanted older 7.3 in it.
