Wow.
And here I am pulling a camper around on old tires. I'll have to check the date on them just to satisfy my curiosity. In my defense, we only use it a few times a year and only about 45 minutes away at non-highway speeds.
I will have to get new ones next spring despite the appearance and remaining tread on the old tires I have.
I would not trust any "news" from this network. Plus, aren't they the ones that blew up saddle tanks on Chevy trucks to prove they were dangerous, when they would not ignite on their own? Or was that NBC?
I don't worry about the date on my campers tires. I do look at them every spring for weather checking. I haven't had to replace them yet. I always put some plywood cutouts I made over them when it is parked to keep the sun off of them.

It was NBC....but I don't trust ABC or CBS either. John Stossel doesn't trust them also, that is why he went to FOX.
It is an old story, many previous threads on it. I still think it is an over hyped typical chicken little news story.
Well it is and it's not just on old tires either. I started a thread here last November and finished that same thread last week concerning my tires on my Taurus. They weren't old and they still cracked.
Best thing I can recommend is to make periodic checks and check your build dates if an issue does happen to arise.
