I have a 92 F150 single cab short bed with a 5.0 and a manual tranny. I got it for my birthday as a project truck. I noticed right off the bat the sometimes the rpms would jump some during shifting. I installed a new cable and then it turns out that the little ball on my throttle body was a bit too large causing the throttle to stick all the time. I had a spare throttle body that I cleaned and made sure snapped back when the throttle was pushed and then made sure the linkage wasn't too tight. I swapped out the two and a tps while I was there. That seemed to fix the issue for a couple of days, but then tonight I put it in gear and seen the rpms stay around 1500 even though I let off the gas. I stopped and popped the hood and pushed the throttle linkage closed but it didnt seem to move. I held it for a second and the rpms dropped to an idle. I got back in and pushed the gas a little and it stuck again. I did some searches but didnt see anything that looked similar. I know the cable slide smoth and the throttle body snaps shut as well. Can you guys think of somthing I am missing or should check. Thanks for the help up front.
Thanks, I will try that as soon as I can. I gotta work the rest of the week. By the way I see you have the Ford racing mass air conversion. Is it worth the trouble and money?
