transmission oil change?
Hey everyone, I recently took my expy in for the regular maintinace, and I got no mention about the tanny oil, they say every time I change the engine oil it looks just fine. During the day it seems that I have to wait I little bit in order for first gear to run fine (only happens sometimes)Like it runs sluggish for a few seconds. I think the oil is ok, but the filter needs to be changed (like debis is stuck and the filter is dirty). any suggestions

Don't know if you've got a drain plug or not on your pan (mine does). If so, unscrew the plug, drain whatever is inside the pan and valve body (less than 1/2 of the total volume). Pull the pan and replace filter. Reinstall the pan with new gasket and refill tranny with new fluid. If the screen is indeed the problem, this should do the trick. Depending on how many miles you have and what your budget allows, if you really want to do it right, take your truck to a shop with a transmission fluid pump. These are supposed to remove ALL the fluid. Then they refill with all new. I've seen this service offered from $80 to $120.
