Restoration general question
Hi all just wondering what some you have done in the past or do now in regards to screws when reinstalling items in your restored vehicles. What type do you use do you? Do you just repaint them or if it is shiny do you just use steel wool on them? Or do you buy new ones and if you do what kind of finish do you get of them? Are Zinc coated ones good enough for the inside or should you use....?

For the inside I go down to ACE and buy the correct oval head screws in stainless steel. When it comes to something like fender bolts and u-clips I buy them from AMK. I don't bother to clean up the old ones as they will rust in less than a week without a phosphate and oil finish on them.
