Jan. 2010 progress update. (A few pics.)

So far not much with the truck. I do have some news on the house though.

A shot of the tuck on a dolly getting ready to go to temp housing. Note the soot on the roof. That is the extent of the involvement in the fire for this unit.

Before: A view of the dining room.

After: A view of the living room and part of the dining room shown above.

A view of the kitchen and into the laundry room. The area between the ladder and the door opening to the left of it is where the fridge sat.

So far, they are starting to put the new roof on today. I am using Energy Star rated shingles and will get a nice tax credit for 2010's return.

I am also going Energy Star where ever possible with all appliances for more tax credits. If Obama is going to give them then I am going to take them.

It's a long row to hoe and gets depressing at times but, I am looking forward to remodelling and re-occupying my home.

More later...

I like the black (?) rear wheels on the truck, what are they?

So the good news on the house is that, as depressing as it is, you are making forward progress and soon will be snug as a bug in a rug.

Did your insurance company go after the appliance manufacture that had the recall?

that's some of the best progress I've seen in a while. I sprang from my chair to check my GE d/w the sat morn I saw your post about the fire.

on the truck topic, my '56 was almost, if not, the exact same color when we got it. kinda strange. 2 local '56's the same color.

chin up, neighbor!

So the old truck made a trip around the block...woohooo (yea, ok, so it was on a tow dolly....you just don't have to tell people that part)

Maybe you can get one of the photoshop wizards like bobj49f2 to cut the dolly out of the pic.

Glad to hear that progress is being made on the house, and I'm glad to hear that you're staying mostly positive about the whole thing.

First off, yes the insurance company is investigating the dishwasher with their experts in the utility research kitchen. They are still dissecting it to find out if it did indeed cause the fire. There is no question in my mind that it did by where the damage was the most intense. If they determine it is then Allstate will go after GE in Subrogation.

Next, the wheels are American Muscle Black Bullitt Motorsport. The tires are 245/50-18. When I convert the front end to MII these will move forward and I will get some 295/35-20 for the rear. For now they will fit and let me know how high to tub the bed sides as the rears will only be 1/2 inch taller profile.

I am hoping to be back in the house by April or May at the latest.

As to the color, the guy I bought it from in Alaska painted it when he built it. I plan to bring it back to that color after doing the body freshening that is needed.

Thanks for the kind words and support.
