Steering squeel

I have a 77 F150 2WD and have totally rebuilt the front end and the steering gear box. Now that I am cruisin' up an down the road in a straight line, I am really anxious to get rid of the squeel when I turn the wheel. It starts with a hissing, but goes to a squeel when it goes to the far ends of the turning radius. I have "heard" that this system need to be bled just like brakes, but I don't know how to do it or if that will solve the problem. Any advice will be appreciated.

Steering squeel

First make sure the fluid level is at full. Either tighten the belt or replace it. If it is tight, try spraying some WD40 on it to see if it will quiten down.

Steering squeel

The power steering is bled by turning the wheel lock-to-lock a couple of times. At the limits of its travel the system purges the air from the lines. You shouldn't hold the wheel at full lock for an extended period of time however.
