How deep was your really big puddle? If you open the hood, how high up did the water get or splash?
You've got electrical issues. I'd start by making sure any fuses and relays under the hood are dry. Then take off and dry out the ISS & OSS sensors on the side of the tranny. Do the same for the VSS on top of the rear diff. A little dielectic grease around the plug when putting things back together might help prevent a re-occurrence.
My VSS did the same thing a while back after hitting some water in a blind curve....Took a leaf blower to the truck when i got home, underneath and inside the hood and let it sit for about an hour and she was fine...I also sprayed some wd40 on the connectors and so far so good...
Thank You for the replies, the puddle was pretty deep, I didn't realize how deep until my truck almost caame to a stop when I hit it I will try to locate the VSS deal and try to blow some air on it to dry it off.
When I lived down in Arizona (thanks to the Uncle Sam travel plan) I learned two things.
#1 If the sign says DIP IN ROAD they mean "There is a 4 foot deep concrete ditch running across the road in front of you. Slow way down if you like your front suspension."
#2 If the sign says WATER ON ROAD it means "There is a freakin' river on the road in front of you because the DIP isn't big enough to contain the runoff. You may experience death if you try to cross it."
Was'nt there a post a couple months back on some main electrical connection Block,,on the drivers side I beleive,,,under a smaller plastic cover,(gotta dig deep),that can get corroded,,and play havoc with the truck,,???
