Generator ideas
I have a generator that died out on my from my '57 and am looking to sell it to people who are looking to stay original. Not sure when price I should list it for or where to find people that would be interested in this type of part. Any information or advice would be appreciated.

I know this hurts, but if you GAVE it to me and the shipping was less than $15 I MIGHT be interested depending on the exact model. I know that's harsh, but as Julie said, a bad gennie is kind of a doorstop.
I just checked the cost of UPS and USPS shipping and the cheapest rate is about $15 so it would be marginal for me. If you just want to avoid sending the unit to the scrap metal pile I guess I'd be willing to rebuild it for stock truck use (yes, there are still some of us doing stock restorations).
I think your best other option is to put it on eBay and wait for a sucke ... I mean buyer who needs it. You might be able to get them to pay the shipping but I wouldn't price it more than $25 or so. On the other hand, we've all seen absolute trash bought like it was inkjet printer ink. On the bright side, at least gold is still a bargain.

An outfit in so. Colorado bought some gen's and starters off me for $10 apiece and paid the shipping. Price was only good if the coils and armatures were good, no thrown solder, shorted coils, etc. Hate to throw such stuff in the trash, but if not for their interest, that's where they'd be. Note they were interested in '40's flathead-era gens that are much rarer than the later ones.
