Ive been looking around at the Ford sites for awhile since I bought a 91 f150 scab 4x4 last month. I needed a cheap work truck for hauling my snowblowers around, and while most of the vehicles I have owned for the past 20 years have been foreign cars, five or six of the 21 cars that I have owned have been American cars. Ive been turning wrenches since before I could drive, so while I dont consider myself an expert by any means, it is refreshing to work on this truck, it has plenty of room to get sockets and wrenches in the engine bay, and parts are cheap and plentiful.
And to my surprise the 302 engine is plenty of engine for my basic needs, a lot better that I expected with only 180hp or whatever the factory rating is.
I paid $1400 for the truck with a pretty clean interior, good drivetrain, and a good topper to keep my equipment dry. Just yesterday, I cured the 5" of steering slop by installing a used rag joint(intermediate steering shaft) from the junkyard, cost $8.
About all is left for now is to go back to the junkyard and get the exhaust from behind the cat,(i know i should go performance, but for $15, i cant beat it), and install some shocks(i ll buy these new)
At any rate, this looks like a great site, with awesome members, will post some pictures once I make some time for that.
take care

An F150 is an excellent work truck and maintained properly it will last a long time.
