no smoke, no start
I have a 90 f250 and I kept loosing prime on fuel system. Replaced return lines, o-rings and rings on fuel heater. Went to start truck and getting small amounts of fuel from cracked injectors but no exhaust smoke at all. No smoke with injectors closed also. Pulled fuel line off just before ip and had an explosion of diesel fuel everywhere (lots of pressure built up by fuel pump none seems to be entering ip though). Fuel shutoff solenoid clicks when key on and connector removed. ?????

My bet is you almost have all the air worked out of the IP, and it is getting ready to start.
At cranking RPM, you don't see a large amount of fuel at the injection lines, just enough to keep the engine idling.
